In Inuit mythology, Sedna is a sea goddess and master of
the animals, especially mammals such as seals, of the ocean.
Sedna is also known as Arnakuagsak or Arnarquagssaq
(Greenland) and Nerrivik or Nuliajuk (Alaska).
Size: 6 inches L x 5 inches H x 2½ D
Condition: Very Good
Material: light green stone with tints of yellow & reddish brown
Weight: Approx. 2¼ lbs.
Age: 1985
Artist: Nooveya Ipeelie from Frobisher Bay, Canada
Signed on the underside.

HAND CARVED BONE FACES WITH INLAID EYES - Size: 6-3/4 Inches Tall x 3-1/4 Inches Wide x 1 Inch Deep. Artist: Thomas Sokpick. Origin: Shishmarefi, Alaska. Signed on the back and the permit number come with the piece. Condition: Very Good to Excellent. There are two small chips on the back of the carvings, which I believe were done while the carving was done. This does not detract or weaken the piece. Age: 1990's.

Artist: Unidentified Please note that the bottom of the piece is signed BJ and there are numbers under the Canadian Native Art authenticity sticker. Age: My best guess is 1980's or earlier. The date might be under the sticker, but I didn't want to remove it. Material: Stone or mineral

CARVED WOODEN CUP WITH RELIEF FIGURES - Size: 5 Inches Tall x 3-1/8 Inches Wide at the Top. Condition: Good to Very Good. There is a small spot of green inside the cup. Age: Undetermined. But there is some age to this. Origin: Alaska. There are five figures carved in low relief around the cup along with other decoration. The cup is colored with a red pigment. A handsome addition to a collection. And unusual.

The Inukshuk is a stone landmark used as a milestone or directional
marker by the Inuit of the Canadian Arctic. The Inukshuk are primitive,
stone images which point you in the direction you wanted to go.
